, 1989 The results of a census of fishing boats on Mahe Praslin and La Digue are presented in total 439 active fishing boats were counted of which 156 were pirogues, 196 were outboards, 68 were whalers and 19 were schooners. The details are discussed in relation to the catch assessment survey conducted by Seychelles fishing Authority.

Lack of Compliance in Gillnet Fisheries Regulations Increases Risk to a Vulnerable Species
Fisheries Management and Ecology, EarlyView.ABSTRACT This article presents an analysis of regulatory compliance in a Brazilian gillnet fishery, based on Vessel Monitoring System (VMS) tracking data. Satellite transmissions records, interpreted as proxies for gillnet haulings events, were analyzed and classified using a neural network to assess the level of compliance of the gillnet fleet.
