SMC4 Promotes Prostate Cancer Cell Proliferation and Metastasis via the Rheb/mTOR Pathway
Advanced Science, EarlyView.Structural maintenance of chromosome protein 4 (SMC4) has been implicated in prostate cancer metastasis. Knockdown of SMC4 in RM1‐LM cells significantly attenuates proliferation, migration, and lung metastasis in vivo. Furthermore, SMC4 interacts with GLUT1 (Slc2a1), thereby enhancing glycolysis, ATP production, and activation of the Rheb/mTOR pathway.
