Characterization of the satellite DNA Msat-160 from species of Terricola (Microtus) and Arvicola (Rodentia, Arvicolinae)

open access: yesGenetica, 2010
In the subfamily Arvicolinae (Cricetidae, Rodentia) the satellite DNA Msat-160 has been so far described in only some species from the genus Microtus and in one species from another genus, Chionomys nivalis.

The First Record of Eothenomys (Arvicolinae, Cricetidae, Rodentia) from the Pleistocene of Vietnam

Doklady Biological Sciences, 2023
The Oriental vole Eothenomys eleusis (Thomas, 1911) is identified from the Middle Pleistocene Tham Hai cave locality in northern Vietnam (Lang Son Province) based on isolated teeth. This is the first record of the Pleistocene Arvicolinae in Vietnam and the first fossil find of Eothenomys outside of China.

Complete mitochondrial genomes of Chionomys roberti and Chionomys nivalis (Mammalia: Rodentia) from Turkey: Insight into their phylogenetic position within Arvicolinae

open access: yesOrganisms Diversity and Evolution, 2022
The complete mitochondrial DNA (mitogenome) sequences of Chionomys nivalis and C. roberti were first presented as reference mitogenomes by the current study using Long-Range PCR and Next-Generation Sequencing.

Yushe Basin Prometheomyini (Arvicolinae, Rodentia)

Vertebrate Paleobiology and Paleoanthropology, 2017
Absent from Miocene and Pleistocene assemblages of Yushe Basin, prometheomyine Arvicolinae are a common and characteristic element of Pliocene faunas. Two time-successive species of the genus Germanomys are well represented in the Gaozhuang and Mazegou formations and serve as index fossils for Gaozhuangian and Mazegouan faunas.

Systematics of snow voles (Chionomys, Arvicolinae) revisited

Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution, 2012
To elucidate the evolutionary history of snow voles, genus Chionomys, we studied the phylogeography of Chionomysnivalis across its range and investigated its relationships with two congeneric species, Chionomysgud and Chionomysroberti, using independent molecular markers.

Meiosis in gray voles of the subgenus Microtus (Rodentia, Arvicolinae) and in their hybrids

Russian Journal of Genetics, 2011
The results of light and electron microscopic (EM) studies of meiosis in Microtus arvalis males of the karyoform "arvalis" (2n = 46, NFa = 80), in hybrids between the chromosomal forms arvalis and obscurus (2n = 46, NFa = 68), in M. rossiaemeridionalis voles (2n = 54, NFa = 54), and in a hybrid between the species M.

Chromosome Polymorphism in Microtus (Alexandromys) mujanensis (Arvicolinae, Rodentia).

Cytogenetic and genome research, 2016
The Muya Valley vole (Microtus mujanensis) has a constant diploid chromosome number of 2n = 38, but an unstable karyotype with polymorphic chromosome pairs. Here, we describe 4 karyotypic variants involving 2 polymorphic chromosome pairs, MMUJ8 and MMUJ14, in 6 animals from Buryatia using a combination of GTG-banding and chromosome painting with M ...

Complete mitochondrial genome of Lasiopodomys mandarinus mandarinus (Arvicolinae, Rodentia)

Mitochondrial DNA Part A, 2015
Mandarin voles (Lasiopodomys mandarinus) is a subterranean rodent species that are often used as a model for studying subterranean hypoxic stress in mammals. Its subspecies L. m. mandarinus span in cropland in most area of north China and is regarded as an agricultural pest. In this paper, the complete mitochondrial genome of L. m.

Italian Journal of Geosciences, 2015
The occurrence of the genus Iberomys is testified in Italy and the Iberian Peninsula from the Early Pleistocene on. The genus comprises two extinct voles: I. huescarensis from the Early Pleistocene to the early Middle Pleistocene and I. brecciensis (=mediterraneus) from the Middle to the early Late Pleistocene. I.
