Comparative Anatomy of Pig Arytenoid Cartilage and Human Arytenoid Cartilage
Journal of Voice, 2019This study aims to investigate the feasibility of pig arytenoid cartilage as an animal model for simulating arytenoidectomy under microlaryngoscope by comparing the similarities and differences between pig arytenoid cartilage and human arytenoid cartilage. This is a methodological study on the excised pig arytenoid cartilage and human arytenoid ...

Ultrastructure of the Vocal Process of the Arytenoid Cartilage
Annals of Otology, Rhinology and Laryngology, 2000An investigation of the ultrastructure of the vocal process of the arytenoid cartilage was performed on excised human adult larynges. The results are summarized as follows. 1) The size of the chondrocytes is small and their density is high at the tip of the vocal process.

Auris Nasus Larynx, 2015
Arytenoid chondroma is an extremely rare benign cartilaginous tumor. We report a case of a patient with arytenoid chondroma initially mimicking laryngopharyngeal reflux. Clinicians should consider the possibility of the arytenoid chondroma in the differential diagnosis of patients with vocal cord palsy, or arytenoid swelling caused by laryngopharyngeal

An Exploratory Study Into the Implantation of Arytenoid Cartilage Scaffold in the Horse
Tissue Engineering - Part A, 2021Respiratory function in the horse can be severely compromised by arytenoid chondritis, or arytenoid chondropathy, a pathologic condition leading to deformity and dysfunction of the affected cartilage. Current treatment in cases unresponsive to medical management is removal of the cartilage, which can improve the airway obstruction,

The vertebral level of the arytenoid cartilages
The Anatomical Record, 1968AbstractA group of 27 females and 24 males between the ages of eight years four months and 15 years seven months was examined to determine the vertebral level of their arytenoid cartilages. An apprasial of their lateral cephalometric radiographs which included the cervical vertebra was made under rigid conditions.

Chronic Chondritis of the Equine Arytenoid Cartilage
Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association, 1980SUMMARY Chronic chondritis of the arytenoid cartilage was diagnosed in 7 male Thoroughbred horses examined for obstructive upper airway disorders. The history of the cases was characterized by a 3- to 6-month progression of exercise intolerance and inspiratory dyspnea during exercise.

Arytenoid Cartilage Dislocation: A 20-Year Experience
Journal of Voice, 2005Arytenoid cartilage dislocation is an infrequently diagnosed cause of vocal fold immobility. Seventy-four cases have been reported in the literature to date. Intubation is the most common origin, followed by external laryngeal trauma. Decreased volume and breathiness are the most common presenting symptoms.

Unilateral Degloving Injuries of the Arytenoid Cartilage
Archives of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, 1986Arytenoid cartilage dislocations and avulsions are often seen as a part of severe laryngeal injuries due to blunt trauma. An uncommon type of injury is the unilateral degloving of an arytenoid cartilage following laterally directed trauma to the thyroid cartilage. It may occur without additional cartilaginous or mucosal damage.

Distribution of Elastic Cartilage in the Arytenoids and Its Physiologic Significance
Annals of Otology, Rhinology and Laryngology, 1990An investigation of the distribution of the elastic cartilage in the arytenoids was performed on excised human adult and newborn larynges. The distribution of elastic cartilage in the arytenoids was investigated histologically in two serial sections: Horizontal and coronal.
