Ascending aorta aneurysm in scleroderma

Journal of Scleroderma and Related Disorders, 2021
Ascending aorta aneurysm in scleroderma can be ascribed to its macrovascular involvement which is very less elucidated. We here describe a 56-year-old female with rapidly progressive diffuse cutaneous scleroderma. She presented with skin thickening involving all four limbs, thorax and abdomen. Porcelain Ascending Aorta

Ascending Aorta-Abdominal Aorta Bypass for Takayasu's Arteritis

Asian Cardiovascular and Thoracic Annals, 2003
Three patients with type III Takayasu's arteritis were referred to us because of the upper extremity hypertension and vascular claudication of the lower extremities. They underwent extra-anatomic ascending aorta-abdominal aorta bypass with vascular graft under a median sternotomy and a splitted midline laparotomy incision without cardiopulmonary ...

Calcification of the Ascending Aorta

The British Journal of Radiology, 1958
Calcification of the aorta is generally interpreted as part of the ageing process, and usually little attention is paid to this finding. It should, however, be realised that its location in the different segments of the aorta may be of clinical and diagnostic significance.

Spontaneous rupture of the ascending aorta

European Journal of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery, 1991
A case of spontaneous non-traumatic rupture of the thoracic aorta in a hypertensive patient is presented. The clinical findings suggested acute aortic dissection, and a large pericardial effusion was detected by echocardiography. The typical angiographic features of aortic dissection were not found.
