Mobile Thrombus in the Ascending Aorta
A 65-year-old male who presented with dizziness, dysarthria, and disability of his left hand was admitted to our hospital. Magnetic resonance imaging of the head revealed cerebral infarction and enhanced computed tomography revealed a suspicious thrombus in the ascending aorta. He did not have a coagulation disorder.

Propagation-based phase-contrast synchrotron imaging of aortic dissection in mice : from individual elastic lamella to 3D analysis [PDF]
In order to show the advantage and potential of propagation-based phase-contrast synchrotron imaging in vascular pathology research, we analyzed aortic medial ruptures in BAPN/AngII-infused mice, a mouse model for aortic dissection. Ascending and thoraco-

Intraluminal mass of the ascending aorta [PDF]
A 53-year-old truck-driver, symptomatic for headache, was diagnosed [computed tomography (CT) and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (cMRI)] with a 4 cm intraluminal aortic mass arising 3.5 cm above the sinu-tubular junction (Fig. 1A and B and Supplementary Video 1). After epiaortic ultrasound scanning (Fig. 2A and Supplementary Video 1), the ascending

Thoracic endovascular aortic repair for the ascending aorta: experience and pitfalls.
Thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) of the ascending aorta is a developing alternative treatment strategy, which currently is specifically aimed at patients who are too high risk for open surgery. TEVAR has been applied to patients with a variety
