ASCUS : état des lieux

Gynécologie Obstétrique & Fertilité, 2006
A report of ASCUS is always confusing or painful to the clinician, as histological correlate of this diagnosis is wide, ranging from a totally normal cervix mucosa to infiltrating carcinoma; most of the time it is the result of benign inflammatory or reactive changes.

[ASCUS in atrophy].

Ceskoslovenska patologie, 2008
The peak of incidence in cervical carcinoma precedes epithelial atrophy following menopause. Nevertheless, some carcinomas develop in the postmenopausal period. Atrophy, namely the partially developed, shares some cytomorphology features with SIL, especially if inflammatory changes, common in this period, interfere. Proliferation test is recognized and

The Bitunicate Ascus

1981
The bitunicate ascus as defined by Luttrell (1951) is surrounded by two walls that differ in their ability to extend. The outer, inextensible wall (ectotunica) ruptures when the pressure within the mature ascus increases, whereas the extensible inner wall (endotunica) elongates.

LAYERED STRUCTURE IN THE BITUNICATE ASCUS

Canadian Journal of Botany, 1967
The bitunicate ascus of Botryosphaeria piceae Funk was found to have a multilayered structure of the endotunica, the hydrophylic, extensible, inner wall of the ascus that functions in ascospore discharge. A similar multilayered endotunica was observed in Botryosphaeria quercuum (Schw.) Sacc. and in Pleospora herbarum (Fr.) Rab. var. herbarum following

The Operculate Ascus and Allied Forms

1981
When the Crouan brothers (1857, 1858) discovered the operculum at the top of the ascus, they placed all species with this structure in the genus Ascobolus Persoon ex Hooker. Boudier (1879, 1885) was the first to recognize the importance of the operculate mode of ascus dehiscence for the classification of the discomy-cetes.

Septation of the Ascus in Dothidina

Mycologia, 1930
A peculiar condition of septation of the ascus of Dothidina costaricensis Stevens was reported by F. L. Stevens in 1927.1 This septation occurs either longitudinally or transversely. The phenomenon of septation of the ascus is very rare, occurring, so far as is known, in only a few other fungi which are widely separated taxonomically. The condition has
