Therapeutic intervention for wear debris-induced aseptic implant loosening
Wear debris-induced aseptic loosening is an inflammatory bone disorder, which compromises the long-term success of total joint replacement. Despite the extensive research and great progress in treating inflammation-induced osteolysis for inflammatory ...

Aseptic tibial loosening: Radiographic identification remains a diagnostic dilemma
Introduction: Aseptic tibial loosening following total knee arthroplasty (TKA) can be challenging to diagnose radiographically. Surgeons often face the clinical scenario of determining implant fixation in patients that do not have serial radiographs and ...

Acetabular cup migration. Prediction of aseptic loosening
We measured the proximal migration of 265 acetabular cups over seven years and correlated the findings with clinical outcome and acetabular revision for aseptic loosening. Cups which eventually became aseptically loose were shown to migrate more rapidly than successful cups.

Role of Gene Polymorphisms in the Development of Aseptic Loosening of Knee and Hip Prostheses: A Review [PDF]
Background. Aseptic loosening is a significant issue in the endoprosthetics of major joints of the lower limbs. In the modern view, aseptic loosening of joint prostheses is primarily caused by prolonged inflammation, which induces periprosthetic ...

Early aseptic loosening of cementless monoblock acetabular components [PDF]
Early aseptic loosening of cementless monoblock acetabular components is a rare complication of total hip arthroplasty (THA) and hip resurfacing arthroplasty (HRA). The purpose of this study was to evaluate the incidence and risk factors for early aseptic loosening of the cementless monoblock acetabular components. This retrospective analysis consisted ...

Aseptic loosening of an APTIS distal radioulnar joint arthroplasty – Case report [PDF]
Dysfunction of the distal radioulnar joint can cause significant pain and instability. The self-stabilizing APTIS distal radioulnar joint prosthesis is used as a solution for severe distal radioulnar joint pathologies.

Predictors of early aseptic loosening of prosthetic components following primary total knee arthroplasty [PDF]
Background. Aseptic loosening of the knee prosthesis components is one of the most common causes of revision surgery. The acceptable range of angular values for postoperative alignment of the lower limb and the frontal positioning of the prosthetic ...
