Biotropica, Volume 55, Issue 2, Page 354-367, March 2023., 2023 Using airborne LiDAR acquired in Borneo, we explore what canopy gaps can tell us about how tropical forest structure is impacted by and recovers from logging disturbance. We find that logging and subsequent regrowth substantially alter not just the number and size of gaps in a forest, but also their spatial arrangement and geometric complexity.
