25.5 Conclusions: In conclusion, the surviving tropical forest at the onset of the 21st century is a powerhouse of biological diversity, and we have the responsibility to make it sustainable. At the landscape level, we should maintain defined minimum areas of natural forest wherever feasible, and vigorously pursue reforestation in other areas.
