The paper is in continuation of the ongoing study on the interpretation of special functions of \(q\)-hypergeometric types on quantum groups. The author interprets a three parameter, of which one is discrete, family of Askey-Wilson polynomials as associated spherical elements on the \(\text{SU}_q (2)\) quantum group.
