DKK3 Initially Preserves Acinar Integrity Through MEK‐Fos Signaling, but Later Switches to an Oncogenic Role in Pancreatic Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 3, 14 January 2026.
In pancreatic cancer, the protein DKK3 is found to play a complex role: it initially slows early tumor growth but later promotes tumor aggressiveness. DKK3 expression evolves during progression and drives cancer severity by orchestrating cellular and molecular signaling pathways.

CYP4X1/sEH‐Dependent Endocannabinoid Metabolism Drives Fibroblast‐Mediated Immunosuppression to Limit Immunotherapy in Colon Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 5, 27 January 2026.
A proposed mechanism to explain the role of CYP4X1/sEH‐14,15‐EET‐EA system in colon cancer immune escape. 14,15‐EET‐EA, 14,15‐epoxyeicosatrienoic acid‐ethanolamide; sEH, soluble epoxide hydrolase; CYP4X1, cytochrome P450 4X1; GPR119, G‐protein coupled receptor 119; EGFR, epidermal growth factor receptor; Gs, Gαs subunit; cAMP, cyclic adenosine ...

Mapping the Tissue‐of‐Origins of Mesenchymal Stromal Cells in Injury Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 3, 14 January 2026.
This study maps mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) across multiple tissues, revealing that bone marrow–derived MSCs mobilize monocytes via CCL2 to promote systemic inflammation but do not migrate to distant organs to form fibrotic or tumor stroma. Instead, local MSCs dominate tissue remodeling, suggesting a “two‐hit” model linking systemic inflammation ...

A Dynamic DNA Nano‐Antioxidant Targeting Galectin‐3 Attenuates Liver Fibrosis via Reducing Macrophage Oxidative Stress

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 4, 19 January 2026.
This study developed a dynamic DNA nano‐antioxidant (DDN) for Galectin‐3 siRNA delivery, specifically targeting hepatic macrophages to suppress ROS‐driven fibrosis. DDN enhanced hepatic accumulation, restored NRF2 signaling, and attenuated oxidative stress, collagen deposition, and fibrotic progression in a CCl4‐induced cirrhosis model, demonstrating ...
