Optical ratiometric probes based on photoluminescent core–shell structured carbon dots@silica for temperature sensing

open access: yesJournal of the American Ceramic Society, Volume 109, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract Accurate temperature measurements with high spatial resolution are crucial in the biomedical field, demanding innovative nanoscale thermometers with advanced properties. In this study, core–shell carbon dots (CDs@SiO2), supported with fluorescein and manganese phosphate flakes (Mn3(PO4)2), are utilized as dispersible ratiometric temperature ...

Non‐invasive deep‐tissue temperature monitoring via high‐performance optical nano‐thermometer

open access: yesJournal of the American Ceramic Society, Volume 109, Issue 1, January 2026.
The Er3+;Tm3+ co‐doped TiO2 nanotubes, synthesized via a hydrothermal method, exhibit anti‐thermal quenching behavior. The material was composed of approximately 80% rutile phase and 20% anatase phase, record‐high relative sensitivity of 3.59% K−1 at 398 K with good uncertainty and accuracy values below 1 K in all the temperature range (298 K to 398 K)

Assessment of fetal growth in twin pregnancies: evidence‐based practice

open access: yesThe Obstetrician &Gynaecologist, Volume 28, Issue 1, Page 30-40, January 2026.
Key content Twin pregnancies are at an increased risk of fetal growth restriction and require tailored growth surveillance strategies. Fetal growth in twin pregnancies is strongly influenced by chorionicity. In dichorionic twins, fetal growth restriction typically arises from uteroplacental insufficiency affecting one or both fetuses.

Computed cardiopulmonography: Effects of physical characteristics on lung parameter estimates

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, Volume 111, Issue 1, Page 300-313, 1 January 2026.
Abstract Computed cardiopulmonography (CCP) is a technique that measures lung volumes (functional residual capacity and deadspace) together with novel parameters reflecting lung inhomogeneities (non‐uniformities in lung inflation and deadspace path length).
