In the current long‐term study, rats were administered garlic scape powder at various doses for 12 weeks. The highest dose of garlic scape powder, 1200 mg/kg bwt, provided lipid lowering benefits due to increased cholesterol consumption by increasing apoprotein E levels and a better safety profile in terms of hepatotoxicity.

Evidence for pre-folding vein development in the Oligo-Miocene Asmari Formation in the Central Zagros Fold Belt, Iran [PDF]
International audienceIn order to understand the interplay between vein development and folding in the carbonates of the Oligo-Miocene Asmari Formation (one of the main hydrocarbon reservoir rocks) in Iran, several anticlines have been investigated in ...

The Asmari Formation is a thick carbonate sequence of the Oligocene-Miocene in the Zagros Basin, southwest of Iran. This formation is located in Bandar Abbas and Coastal Fars regions on the following two sections: Anguro anticline (west-northwest of Bandar Abbas) and Gavbast anticline (southwest of Lar County).

A seismic-driven 3D model of rock mechanical facies: An example from the Asmari reservoir, SW Iran [PDF]
Asmari Formation is one of the most prolific and important hydrocarbon reservoirs in Iran. This formation in the Cheshmeh-Khosh oilfield shows mixed carbonate-siliciclastic lithology and its elastic modulus changes are correlatable with facies changes ...

The geometry of growth strata as evidence for the evolution of the Nahreh anticline, the interior Fars region [PDF]
The study area is located in the northern margin of the Fars paleo high plateau in the Zagros fold-thrust belt. The presence of growth strata in the young Aghajari and Bakhtiari formations shows the continuation of folding until the Pliocene and ...

Regional stratigraphy, facies distribution, and hydrocarbons potential of the Oligocene strata across the Arabian Plate and Western Iran [PDF]
Major global events during the Oligocene epoch included a climatic change from warm “greenhouse” to a cooler “icehouse” that was accompanied by the onset of Antarctic glaciation. These events led to decline in water temperature, salinity, nutrient supply
