Locating a scatterer in the active volcanic area of Southern Peru from ambient noise cross-correlation [PDF]
We report on a strong scatterer of seismic energy in the 5–10 s period range located in the volcanic arc of Southern Peru. It is superficially like an active noise source in that it produces a continuous signal that arrives earlier than the inter-station

At many volcano observatories, measurements of the plume height are frequently applied. On the other hand, the recent development of the satellite measurements enables the monitoring of the SO2 mass emitted by the passive degassing at sufficient temporal

Inhaled Angiopoietin‐Like 4 Antisense Oligonucleotide Therapy for Lung Injury and Fibrosis
Inhaled antisense oligonucleotides targeting ANGPTL4 attenuate inflammation, preserve barrier integrity, and reduce fibrosis in both infectious and sterile lung injury models. Integrated transcriptomic analysis reveals a conserved ANGPTL4‐regulated gene network coordinating hypoxic, inflammatory, apoptotic, and stress‐response pathways.

Analysis of gas jetting and fumarole acoustics at Aso Volcano, Japan [PDF]
Abstract The gas-thrust region of a large volcanic eruption column is predominately a momentum-driven, fluid flow process that perturbs the atmosphere and produces sound akin to noise from jet and rocket engines, termed “jet noise”. We aim to enhance understanding of large-scale volcanic jets by studying an accessible, less hazardous fumarolic jet ...
