π‐Expanded Nitrogen‐Cation (N+)‐Doped Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons: A Review of Intramolecular Cyclization Routes to Benzo[c]Quinolizinium, Triazinium, Pyridoquinazolinium, and Pyridoquinoxalinium Frameworks

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
This review surveys recent progress in the synthesis of extended aromatic quinolizinium derivatives via intramolecular SNAr and oxidative 6π‐electrocyclization. Conventional thermal approaches are discussed alongside emerging, sustainable activation methods such as electrosynthesis and photochemical processes.

Distributed Representations of Sentences and Documents [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Many machine learning algorithms require the input to be represented as a fixed-length feature vector. When it comes to texts, one of the most common fixed-length features is bag-of-words.

Multi-task Neural Network for Non-discrete Attribute Prediction in Knowledge Graphs

open access: yes, 2017
Many popular knowledge graphs such as Freebase, YAGO or DBPedia maintain a list of non-discrete attributes for each entity. Intuitively, these attributes such as height, price or population count are able to richly characterize entities in knowledge ...

How to improve TTS systems for emotional expressivity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Several experiments have been carried out that revealed weaknesses of the current Text-To-Speech (TTS) systems in their emotional expressivity. Although some TTS systems allow XML-based representations of prosodic and/or phonetic variables, few ...

Balancing allocative and dynamic efficiency with redundant R&D allocation: The role of organizational proximity and centralization

open access: yesStrategic Management Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Research Summary Resource‐based‐view scholars have mainly examined two resource allocation approaches for competitive advantage in multiunit firms: resource sharing and resource redeployment. These approaches emphasize allocative efficiency—the optimal allocation of resources to maximize their current value. In technology‐intensive industries,
