Assessment of Interaction Behaviors of Cement-Emulsified Asphalt Based on Micro-Morphological and Macro-Rheological Approaches

open access: yes, 2022
Cement emulsified asphalt composite binder (CEACB) plays a determining role in the construction of cold recycled asphalt pavements. Understanding the interaction behaviors of cement-emulsified asphalt is very essential to promote the serviceability of ...

Real‐Time Ground Deformation Records of Coastal Cliff Failures in San Diego County, California

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Earth Surface, Volume 131, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract Coastal cliff failures pose significant risks to public safety and coastal infrastructure, especially in southern California. We deployed a suite of continuous geophysical sensors to investigate failure processes and precursory behaviors at three coastal clifftop sites in San Diego County: San Elijo State Beach and two locations in Del Mar ...

Mechanism Analyses of Structure Formation of Cement Asphalt Emulsion Mixtures

open access: yes, 2011
Combing with the concept of soft matter and demulsification mechanism of cationic asphalt emulsion, the authors analyzed mechanism of structure formation of cement asphalt emulsion mixtures; thought that minor dosages of cement make properties of asphalt

Monitoring Flood Inundation Dynamics From Space

open access: yesReviews of Geophysics, Volume 64, Issue 1, March 2026.
Abstract With the increasing intensity and frequency of flood events worldwide, the need for accurate and timely inundation mapping has never been more critical. Large‐scale flood extent estimations are vital for coordinating effective disaster response, facilitating recovery, and building future resilience.

Mechanical properties of mortar containing recycled asphalt

open access: yesGrađevinar, 2017
Recycled asphalt is used in this paper as replacement for a part of cement in the production of cement composite. A part of cement was replaced with a sieved recycled asphalt powder in the proportion of 5 to 15 % of the cement weight.

Cannibal Salvage Expenditure: The Subaltern Style of the Urban Peruvian Amazon

open access: yesAntipode, Volume 58, Issue 2, March 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper explores the political ecology of subaltern existence at the urban cutting edge of our apocalyptic present, in the case of Iquitos in the Peruvian Amazon. Through an ethnographically surrealist montage of multiple elements across the themes of accumulation, architecture, and art, cannibal salvage expenditure emerges as a subversive ...

The Stability of Gyrolite and Influence of Fe(III)

open access: yesJournal of the American Ceramic Society, Volume 109, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Gyrolite (Ca4Si6O15(OH)2·4H2O) is a crystalline calcium silicate hydrate which forms hydrothermally and is primarily used as an adsorbent for wastewater treatment. The stability of gyrolite is poorly understood, as well as the potential impact of Fe, which can be present as an impurity in the raw materials used.

Precipitation mechanism of anhydrite cement in lacustrine tight sandstone: Implications for fluid activity, mass transfer and pore origin of open diagenetic system in tight sandstone

open access: yesThe Depositional Record, Volume 12, Issue 1, February 2026.
This paper discusses a new model concerning the precipitation mechanismand significance of anhydrite cement in tight sandstone. Anhydrite cement ismainly formed by the dissolution and reprecipitation of early‐diageneticcalcite cements, feldspars and volcanic rock fragments at the mesodiageneticstage.

Assessing Environmental Sustainability Practices in Building Construction Projects in Tanzania: A Mixed‐Methods Approach

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 2, February 2026.
The study assesses environmental sustainability in 97 of Tanzania's building construction projects amid rapid urbanization. Using the LEED framework, the study reveals a low sustainability level. Barriers to sustainable practices are such as financial constraints, limited use of sustainable materials, and regulatory challenges.
