Development of an asphalt concrete mixture for Asphalt Core Rockfill Dam
Construction and Building Materials, 2017Abstract The main objective of this paper is to develop asphalt concrete mixture and conduct performance tests for Asphalt Core Rockfill Dam (ACRD). Three conditions of mineral filler content have been used: 10, 12 and 14%, namely: F10, F12 and F14 respectively.

Effects of Fillers on Properties of Asphalt-Concrete Mixture
Journal of Transportation Engineering, 2012The role of filler on the mechanical performance of asphalt-concrete mixture was investigated. Three wearing course (W3B) mixtures incorporating granite, hydrated lime, and kaolin as filler fractions were evaluated by the Marshall mix design method to determine their optimum asphalt content.

Automobile Roads and Road Construction, 2023
This article shows that one of the reasons for the deterioration of the condition of highways is largely the mismatch of the operational characteristics of road construction materials with increased traffic loads. The rapid increase in the number of heavy trucks on the roads, the increase in traffic intensity and, as a result, the increase in axial ...

Utilization of Gneiss in Asphalt Concrete Mixtures
Materials Science Forum, 2009Construction of the pavement has consumed a huge amount of high grade aggregates, such as basalt, limestone etc. In some region, these aggregates are very scarce and have to be produced and transported from far aggregate quarries which would cause the waste of energy and resources as well as the increase of cost.

Placement of Asphalt Concrete Mixtures
1984A brief description of the history of the development of the asphalt paver is given in this paper. It discusses the principle of the floating screed and the operation of the paver tractor unit and screed unit. The forces that act on the screed and keep it in balance (level) to provide a smooth asphalt concrete mat are explained.
