Deep Spatially Varying Coefficient Model for Interpolation of Non‐Stationary Meteorological Data

open access: yesEnvironmetrics, Volume 37, Issue 6, September 2026.
ABSTRACT In spatial statistics, the spatially varying coefficient model (SVCM) is widely applied in the analysis and interpolation of non‐stationary spatial data. By incorporating spatially varying coefficients, the model can capture spatial heterogeneity and provide an attractive interpretation of response‐covariate associations.

Fatigue and Rutting Performance of FAA and Conventional Asphalt Mixture Systems

open access: yesFatigue &Fracture of Engineering Materials &Structures, Volume 49, Issue 8, Page 3500-3511, August 2026.
ABSTRACT This study evaluates the laboratory fatigue and rutting performance of two specification‐compliant asphalt mixture systems: an FAA‐compliant airfield mixture designed according to FAA AC 150/5370‐10H and a conventional highway mixture designed according to the Turkish General Directorate of Highways requirements.

Comparative analysis of empirical decomposition algorithms in predicting tire-pavement friction from asphalt surface textures: a Hilbert–Huang transform (HHT) analysis

open access: yesDiscover Civil Engineering
The frictional properties of pavement are contingent on its surface texture, which consists of multiple scales that each contribute differently to friction generation at the tire-surface interface.

Analysis of the Compound Impact of Antecedent Dry Spell and Rainstorm Events on Urban Surface Water Quality

open access: yesEcohydrology, Volume 19, Issue 5, July/August 2026.
ABSTRACT Urban runoff is a key factor in the deteriorating ecological state of urban water bodies. Longer dry spells followed by heavy rains (cascading event) are thought to aggravate water quality deterioration due to large flushes of accumulated contaminants from urban surfaces into water bodies.

Recycling of Asphalt Pavements with Asphalt Rubber

open access: yes, 2008
Pavement recycling has been an important rehabilitation technique to deal with reclaimed materials from old pavements which are usually sent to landfills. The application of this technique contributes to: i) the accomplishment of the requirements defined by the European legislation for the amount of material sent to landfills; ii) the reduction in the ...

Field‐Validated Predictive Model for Strain Modulus of Dispersive Clay Stabilized With a Waste Calcium Composite for Sustainable Subgrade Design

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 7, July 2026.
A field‐validated predictive model accurately estimates the strain modulus of waste calcium composite‐stabilized dispersive clay. The model provides a reliable, sustainable, and cost‐effective tool for subgrade design, reducing dependence on extensive field testing while improving pavement performance.

Comparative Evaluation of Statistical, Machine‐Learning, and Deep‐Learning Models for Construction Sand and Gravel Price Forecasting: A Synthetic‐Data, Simulation‐Based Benchmark

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 7, July 2026.
Eight machine‐learning predictive algorithms are rigorously benchmarked on a fully synthetic monthly 61‐month Nanjing sand‐gravel price series with 15 domain‐relevant drivers. SVR and Ridge attain the lowest multivariate errors, while LightGBM and Gaussian Process Regression unexpectedly collapse to the training‐set mean.

Hasil Bongkaran Perkerasan Jalan sebagai Bahan Lapis Fondasi Jalan Raya

open access: yesMedia Komunikasi Teknik Sipil, 2014
Almost 40% of road in Indonesia are damaged. To obtain the maximum result of road improvement, the surface course (asphalt pavement) of the damaged road should be removed.

Self-healing Asphalt for Road Pavements

open access: yes, 2020
This paper presents a unique self-healing system for asphalt pavement which employs compartmented calcium-alginate fibres encapsulating an asphalt binder healing agent (rejuvenator). This system presents a novel method of incorporating rejuvenators into asphalt pavement mixtures.
