Landslide Analysis over Creep Theory - Crack Propagation of Shale Slopes in Şırnak Asphaltite Coal Mine Site 1 and 2

open access: yesLandslides [Working Title], 2021
The soft rock and wet slopes increase landslides over 50 m long creep slide and risk assessment for long steep slide in Şırnak open-pit coal mining should be searched in asphaltite quarries.

Cleaning of fine asphaltite by oil agglomeration process

open access: yesEnergy Sources, Part A: Recovery, Utilization, and Environmental Effects, 2020
In Turkey, asphaltite deposits are located in the Southeastern Anatolia region in the form of fleets around the Sirnak province and its environs. According to the research, although the lower thermal values of Sirnak asphaltites are between about 11–24 ...

Unprecedented 34S‐enrichment of pyrite formed following microbial sulfate reduction in fractured crystalline rocks

open access: yesGeobiology, Volume 16, Issue 5, Page 556-574, September 2018., 2018
Abstract In the deep biosphere, microbial sulfate reduction (MSR) is exploited for energy. Here, we show that, in fractured continental crystalline bedrock in three areas in Sweden, this process produced sulfide that reacted with iron to form pyrite extremely enriched in 34S relative to 32S.

Low Temperature Behavior of Asphaltite Modified Binders and Asphalt Concretes

open access: yesLecture Notes in Civil Engineering, 2020
Natural asphalts are often used as stiffeners to obtain hard bitumens. With the decrease of the global production of hard bitumens, the use of natural asphalts as stiffeners becomes increasingly interesting.
