Support design of underground openings in an asphaltite mine
Tunnelling and Underground Space Technology, 2013Abstract A detailed study to design support systems for underground openings was carried out in this paper. Asphaltite, an energy source for thermal power plants, will be produced from the Uckardesler Asphaltite Vein in southwestern Turkey. This mine will be the first application of underground asphaltite production in the world.

NICKEL SPECIATION IN ASPHALTITE BOTTOM ASH
SGEM International Multidisciplinary Scientific GeoConference EXPO Proceedings, 2017Asphaltites derive from petroleum origin. The combustion of asphaltites produces fly and bottom ashes that are characterized by a high content of valuable elements such as vanadium, nickel, molybdenum, uranium, thorium, sulfur and unburnt carbon [1].

A kinetic study of Meyers' desulphurization of asphaltite
Fuel, 1989Abstract Cizre asphaltite was leached in acidic ferric chloride solutions. The parameters affecting conversion of pyrite disseminated in asphaltite to sulphate were investigated and a mathematical model having these parameters was derived to define the leaching process.

Rheological Properties of Asphaltite−Water Slurries
Energy & Fuels, 2006In this study, the rheological characteristics of asphaltite−water slurries (AWSs) were investigated with respect to some of the most important parameters in the preparation of slurries. The effects of pulp density, chemical addition, pulp pH, and particle size on the rheological behavior and viscosity of AWSs were studied. The role of demineralization

Minacar asphaltite: an asphaltite from Argentina
Fuel, 1972Abstract Minacar asphaltite, an asphaltic pyrobitumen or fossilized asphalt, has interesting characteristics. Its provenance, physical and chemical properties, analyses, ash characteristics, solvent extraction, carbonization products, and possibilities for improving the coke made from it are outlined.

Asphaltites: Composition and Conversion
1995Turkey has insignificant reserves of crude oil and natural gas. Consequently, the amount of foreign currency spent on importation of petroleum and electricity is equivalent to the total exportation from the country. The increasing trend in crude oil prices, is an important threat to the industrialisation of Turkey.

CHROMIUM AND THALLIUM IN TURKISH ASPHALTITE SAMPLE
SGEM International Multidisciplinary Scientific GeoConference EXPO Proceedings, 2017Asphaltite derives from petroleum origin solid fossil fuel [1]. It contains valuable elements such as chromium, thallium molybdenum, uranium etc. Chromium and thallium are very important elements both environmental and health. Chromium has an important role in the metabolism. It keeps the blood sugar level in balance.

High-sulfur asphaltites of Argentina
Solid Fuel Chemistry, 2007The results of advanced study of the chemical nature of asphaltites from Rafaelita and Toribia fields, as well as the composition and structural features of their malthene, asphaltene-carbene, and carboid components are presented. It was found that the structural units in the molecules of isolated compounds are primarily based on fused tetra-and ...

Thermal liquefaction of natural asphaltites
Solid Fuel Chemistry, 2007Thermal transformations of high-sulfur asphaltites of Argentina were studied over a wide range of their heat treatment conditions: the final heating temperature from 350 to 600°C, the nature of the solvent used (water, deacon, tetragon, straight-run petroleum diesel distillates, the process mode (batch or flow), and the presence of a catalyst.
