Salt Flotation of Şirnak Asphaltite

open access: yesEnergy Sources, Part A: Recovery, Utilization and Environmental Effects, 2011
Abstract The aim of this study was to investigate the possibility of cleaning Sirnak asphaltite by salt flotation. For this purpose, experimental studies were conducted on a Sirnak asphaltite sample containing high ash and sulfur content. The effects of salt amount, pH, frother amount, and impeller speed on the flotation were investigated separately in

A kinetic investigation on the pyrolysis of Seguruk asphaltite

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Research, 2008
The pyrolysis of Seguruk asphaltite has been investigated using thermogravimetric analysis at atmospheric pressure between 293 to 1223 K at different linear heating rates of 5, 10 and 20 K min−1 under nitrogen as ambient gas. There was a two-stage thermal decomposition. Thermal decomposition started around 630 K for stage 1 for the slowest heating rate.

Extraction of Asphaltite with Toluene

Solid Fuel Chemistry, 2018
The extraction of asphaltite with toluene was carried out at 100–300°C. With the use of X-ray fluorescence analysis, the effect of the extractant on the redistribution of organic substances between the initial and extracted asphaltites was found.

Selective oil agglomeration in Sırnak asphaltite beneficiation

open access: yesFuel, 2004
Abstract In this study, the possibility of cleaning Sirnak asphaltite by the agglomeration method was investigated. Experimental studies were conducted on the asphaltite sample with ash, sulphur, volatile matter and fixed carbon contents of 44.8, 6.0, 38.0, and 17.2 wt%, respectively. For this purpose, laboratory tests were carried out to investigate
