Design of CKD6E Electric Drive Shunting Diesel Locomotive Body

open access: yes机车电传动, 2019
In order to shorten the development cycle and improve the assembly efficiency of the car body, the CKD6E electric drive shunting diesel locomotive body was developed with modular technology.

Stable body sizes in soil nematodes across altitudes: The role of intrageneric variation in community assembly

open access: yesEcology and Evolution
Animal body size exhibits rapid responses to environmental variations and displays considerable variability across ecological scales, significantly influencing ecological community assembly. However, our understanding of the extent of body size variation

Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.

The structure of basal body inner junctions from Tetrahymena revealed by electron cryo-tomography

open access: yesThe EMBO Journal
The cilium is a microtubule-based eukaryotic organelle critical for many cellular functions. Its assembly initiates at a basal body and continues as an axoneme that projects out of the cell to form a functional cilium.

Hyperosmotic stress‐induced redistribution of pre‐mRNA cleavage factor I subunits is associated with shifts in alternative polyadenylation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Hyperosmotic stress triggers the relocation of the CFIm complex from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. This shift creates a nuclear ‘stoichiometric bottleneck’, limiting CFIm availability for mRNA processing. Consequently, specific mRNAs like NUDT21 and DICER1 undergo targeted 3′UTR shortening, demonstrating how spatial protein dynamics drive rapid ...

Identification of (20R)‐protopanaxadiol from Panax ginseng as a novel anti‐SARS‐CoV‐2 compound

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We established a noninfectious BAC‐based SARS‐CoV‐2 replicon that enables antiviral screening under BSL‐2 conditions. Using this platform, we screened 373 food‐derived compounds and identified (20R)‐protopanaxadiol from Panax ginseng as a novel inhibitor of SARS‐CoV‐2 RNA replication, highlighting the value of safe replicon systems for antiviral ...

Electronic skins for soft, compact, reversible assembly of wirelessly activated fully soft robots

open access: yesScience Robotics, 2018
A skin-like driving system enables compact and reversible assembly of wirelessly activated, fully soft robots. Designing softness into robots holds great potential for augmenting robotic compliance in dynamic, unstructured environments.

Adenosine triphosphate as a modulator of protein interactions and stability

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ATP is best known as the cell's energy currency, but it also shapes how proteins fold, interact, aggregate and form biomolecular condensates. This review explains the emerging physical principles behind these effects, including weak binding to charged protein regions, magnesium‐dependent behaviour and concentration‐dependent control of protein ...

A basal body microtubule singlet-to-doublet transition in Plasmodium male gametogenesis

open access: yesNature Communications
Axoneme assembly constitutes a pivotal process in male gametogenesis of Plasmodium. Plasmodium possesses a unique nuclear envelope-anchored basal body that templates axoneme assembly, distinct from the basal body that templates the axoneme of cilia or ...

Purification and preparation of Marchantia polymorpha Auxin Response Factor 2 for phase separation studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe detailed protocols for the purification and preparation of Marchantia polymorpha Auxin Response Factor 2 (MpARF2). This protein is fused to an MBP solubility tag and an mNG fluorescent tag and is purified from Escherichia coli. The presented procedures make it possible to study MpARF2 assemblies, which could arise from phase separation ...
