Assembly of a high-quality genome is important for downstream comparative and functional genomic studies. However, most tools for genome assembly assessment only give qualitative reports, which do not pinpoint assembly errors at specific regions.

Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Contact Analysis of Involute Cylindrical Gear with Considering Assembly Error
When spur gear pair meshing with the assembly error,it will cause the edge contact and stress concentration, and affect the service life. In the meantime, because the parallelism error of vertical plane will produce a larger deviation of tooth contact ...

The influence of manufacturing errors of cases on their assembly
Abstract The authors of the article propose a way to increase the accuracy of processing pipe casings included in special products. Currently, in the current production of these products, there is a need to increase the accuracy of manufacturing cases, so it was decided to conduct research work.

Error filtering, pair assembly and error correction for next-generation sequencing reads [PDF]
Abstract Motivation: Next-generation sequencing produces vast amounts of data with errors that are difficult to distinguish from true biological variation when coverage is low. Results: We demonstrate large reductions in error frequencies, especially for high-error-rate reads, by three independent means: (i) filtering ...

Peripheral lysosomes recruit PLEKHG3 to focal adhesions and restrain protrusion dynamics
Proximity‐dependent labeling at the LAMTOR complex revealed the Rho GEF PLEKHG3 as a lysosome‐proximal protein directing the study toward the influence of lysosome positioning on actin dynamics and cell motility. We show that PLEKHG3 colocalizes with lysosomes at focal adhesion sites and observe that forced peripheral dispersion of lysosomes hinders ...

Translophagy—A potential link between autophagy impairment and translational errors
Neurodegenerative diseases are characterised by the accumulation of abnormal proteins and protein aggregates, but their origin often remains unknown. We propose that selective autophagy removes damaged protein‐making machinery, preventing errors during protein synthesis.

On-orbit assembly using superquadric potential fields [PDF]
The autonomous on-orbit assembly of a large space structure is presented using a method based on superquadric artificial potential fields. The final configuration of the elements which form the structure is represented as the minimum of some attractive ...

Encapsulins are protein nanocompartments that play an important role in iron storage. In the Myxococcus xanthus encapsulin system, two cargo proteins called EncB and EncC contribute to iron mineralization. Here, we show that EncB and EncC generate iron‐containing minerals with distinct chemical compositions, suggesting that the composition of stored ...
