Sustainable Materials Design With Multi‐Modal Artificial Intelligence
Advanced Science, EarlyView.Critical mineral scarcity, high embodied carbon, and persistent pollution from materials processing intensify the need for sustainable materials design. This review frames the problem as multi‐objective optimization under heterogeneous, high‐dimensional evidence and highlights multi‐modal AI as an enabling pathway.

Microbial Odorant Detection Guides Drosophila Parasitoids Seeking Hosts in Fermenting Fruits
Advanced Science, EarlyView.Yeast microbes in fermenting fruits attract both host flies and their parasitoid wasps. Female Leptopilina boulardi detect yeast‐emitted ethyl esters via two olfactory receptors, LbouOR167 and LbouOR136. A conserved residue, Leu159, is critical for binding these compounds, enabling female wasps to locate host‐rich habitats.

Advanced Science, EarlyView.A sulfated polysaccharide (SCP) from Cyclocarya paliurus alleviates ulcerative colitis by reshaping the gut microbiome. This remodeled microbiota orchestrates the upregulation of the host‐derived lipid 12‐HEPE, which directly inhibits the TLR4/NF‐κB pathway to suppress inflammation.
