A Wireless Cortical Surface Implant for Diagnosing and Alleviating Parkinson's Disease Symptoms in Freely Moving Animals

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A wireless cortical surface implant employing graphene electrode arrays diagnoses and alleviates Parkinson's disease symptoms in freely moving animals. The device continuously monitors cortical activity and delivers targeted stimulation, restoring beta–gamma and delta oscillations.

Portfolio selection based on market states acquired via price and non-price data

open access: yesDiscover Data
Financial markets exhibit quasi-stationary patterns, known as market states, which previous studies have identified through the correlation structure of asset returns using clustering techniques.

Commodity Market Heterogeneity and Cross-Market Integration

open access: yesApplied Finance Letters, 2017
We evaluate the recent levels of heterogeneity and cross-market integration for fluctuations in commodity futures returns for a post-financial-crisis data sample. We find that a single commodity-market risk factor explains 30.6% of the total variation in

Optimal Simple Monetary and Fiscal Rules under Limited Asset Market Participation

open access: yes, 2012
The combination of limited asset market participation and consumption habits generates indeterminacy for empirically plausible calibrations of a business cycle model characterized by price and nominal wage rigidities.

Light‐Emitting Diodes Based on Metal Halide Perovskite and Perovskite Related Nanocrystals

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The review covers the past and current developments in light‐emitting diodes (LEDs) exploiting nanocrystals of halide perovskites and perovskite‐related materials. The review examines the aspects of material optimizations, device engineering, and applications.

Market liquidity, asset prices, and welfare [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Financial Economics, 2008
This paper presents an equilibrium model for the demand and supply of liquidity and its impact on asset prices and welfare. We show that when constant market presence is costly, purely idiosyncratic shocks lead to endogenous demand of liquidity and large price deviations from fundamentals.

Asymptotic minimization of expected time to reach a large wealth level in an asset market game [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
We consider a stochastic game-theoretic model of a discrete-time asset market with short-lived assets and endogenous asset prices. We prove that the strategy which invests in the assets proportionally to their expected relative payoffs asymptotically minimizes the expected time needed to reach a large wealth level.

Phases of MANES: Multi-Asset Non-Equilibrium Skew Model of a Strongly Non-Linear Market with Phase Transitions [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
This paper presents an analytically tractable and practically-oriented model of non-linear dynamics of a multi-asset market in the limit of a large number of assets. The asset price dynamics are driven by money flows into the market from external investors, and their price impact.

Engineering Triboelectric Paper for Energy Harvesting and Smart Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Engineering nano‐graphite coated paper (NG@P) is produced to serve as triboelectric layers and electrodes for TENGs. Ultra‐high power density above 14 kW m−2 is achieved due to the electrostatic discharge on the surface. Moreover, smart home sensors are fabricated using the NG@P for motion sensing and sleep monitoring, which could be used for security ...
