From Surfaces to Interfaces: Ambient Pressure XPS and Beyond [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The rapidly increasing field of surfaces under ambient conditions of temperature, and pressure in gas and liquid environments, reflects the importance of understanding surface properties in conditions closer to practical situations. This has been enabled

EMT‐associated bias in the Parsortix® system observed with pancreatic cancer cell lines

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The Parsortix® system was tested for CTC enrichment using pancreatic cancer cell lines with different EMT phenotypes. Spike‐in experiments showed lower recovery of mesenchymal‐like cells. This was confirmed with an EMT‐inducible breast cancer cell line.

LYMPHATICS ASSIST CIRCULATION DURING HYPOXIA [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Biology, 2010
![Figure][1] The vertebrate lymphatic system is a network of vessels that collects excess fluid from tissues, delivers the fluid to lymph nodes and then ultimately returns the fluid back to the circulatory system for redistribution. The system plays a critical role in the immune response,

A DIA‐MS‐based proteomics approach to find potential serum prognostic biomarkers in glioblastoma patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A DIA‐MS‐based proteomics analysis of serum samples from GB patients and healthy controls showed that high levels of IL1R2 and low levels of CRTAC1 and HRG in serum are associated with poor survival outcomes for GB patients. These circulating proteins could serve as biomarkers for the prediction of outcome in patients with GB.

Genome-Wide Association with Select Biomarker Traits in the Framingham Heart Study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
BACKGROUND: Systemic biomarkers provide insights into disease pathogenesis, diagnosis, and risk stratification. Many systemic biomarker concentrations are heritable phenotypes.

Exploring the role of cyclin D1 in the pathogenesis of multiple myeloma beyond cell cycle regulation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cyclin D1 overexpression altered the cell adhesion pathway, while cyclin D2 upregulation had less impact on pathway enrichment analysis. Multiple myeloma (MM) patients with cyclin D1 overexpression showed reduced CD56 expression and increased circulating tumor cells (CTC) levels, suggesting that cyclin D1 may contribute to MM cell dissemination ...

Cardiovascular effects of intensive lifestyle intervention in adults with overweight/obesity and type 2 diabetes according to body weight time in range

open access: yesEClinicalMedicine, 2022
Summary: Background: We aimed to assess whether the cardiovascular effects of intensive lifestyle intervention (ILI) vary for those who can maintain the lower body weight after weight loss through ILI.

Comprehensive profiling of lncRNAs and mRNAs enriched in small extracellular vesicles for early noninvasive detection of colorectal cancer: diagnostic panel assembly and extensive validation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Small extracellular vesicles are a promising source of diagnostic molecules. We conducted a comprehensive study, including transcriptome profiling and RT‐qPCR validation on large cohorts of samples. Diagnostic panels enabling sensitive detection of colorectal cancer and precancerous lesions were established. Some molecules were differentially expressed
