Double Circulant Matrices [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
Double circulant matrices are introduced and studied. A formula to compute the rank r of a double circulant matrix is exhibited; and it is shown that any consecutive r rows of the double circulant matrix are linearly independent. As a generalization, multiple circulant matrices are also introduced.

Simultaneous inhibition of TRIM24 and TRIM28 sensitises prostate cancer cells to antiandrogen therapy, decreasing VEGF signalling and angiogenesis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
TRIM24 and TRIM28 are androgen receptor (AR) coregulators which exhibit increased expression with cancer progression. Both TRIM24 and TRIM28 combine to influence the response of castrate‐resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) cells to AR inhibitors by mediating AR signalling, regulation of MYC and upregulating VEGF to promote angiogenesis. Castrate‐resistant

Plasma Soluble Human Elastin Fragments as an Intra-Aneurysmal Localized Biomarker for Ruptured Intracranial Aneurysm [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Background—Fragmentation of the tunica media is a hallmark of intracranial aneurysm formation, often leading to aneurysmal progression and subsequent rupture.

Iron‐dependent lysosomal LDL oxidation induces the expression of scavenger receptor A in human THP‐1 monocytes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In human monocytic cells THP‐1, a limited uptake of native—not oxidized—LDL/VLDL induced expression of scavenger receptor A and cellular adhesion. Induction was inhibited by lysosomotropic (WR‐1065) and lipophilic (BHT) antioxidants and by siRNAs against ferritinophagy.

FEM1B enhances TRAIL‐induced apoptosis in T lymphocytes and monocytes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
FEM1B facilitates TRAIL‐induced apoptosis through distinct mechanisms in T lymphocytes and monocytes. In T lymphocytes, FEM1B engages with TRAF2, leading to a reduction in TRAF2 expression, which subsequently lessens TRAF2's inhibitory influence on caspase‐8.

Primality Testing via Circulant Matrix Eigenvalue Structure: A Novel Approach Using Cyclotomic Field Theory [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
This paper presents a novel primality test based on the eigenvalue structure of circulant matrices constructed from roots of unity. We prove that an integer $n > 2$ is prime if and only if the minimal polynomial of the circulant matrix $C_n = W_n + W_n^2$ has exactly two irreducible factors over $\mathbb{Q}$.

On the One-Shot Zero-Error Classical Capacity of Classical-Quantum Channels Assisted by Quantum Non-signalling Correlations [PDF]

open access: yesQuant. Inf. and Comp., vol.17, no. 5&6, pp. 0380-0398, 2017, 2015
Duan and Winter studied the one-shot zero-error classical capacity of a quantum channel assisted by quantum non-signalling correlations, and formulated this problem as a semidefinite program depending only on the Kraus operator space of the channel.

The burden of intracranial atherosclerosis on cerebral small vessel disease: A community cohort study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Exploring the prevalence and association between intracranial atherosclerosis (ICAS) and cerebral small vessel diseases (CSVD), this study delved beyond the current scope, utilising high‐resolution vessel wall MRI (HRVW‐MRI) to investigate how subtle changes in intracranial atherosclerotic features influence the various burdens of ...
