Assisted reproductive technology
Current Opinion in Obstetrics and Gynecology, 1991Several aspects of reproductive technology are discussed. In tubal infertility, the choice between surgery or in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer (IVF-ET) is addressed. In cases with bilateral distal occlusion or otherwise bad prognosis, IVF is probably more successful and less expensive.

Epigenetics and assisted reproductive technology
Journal of Internal Medicine, 2011During gametogenesis, the female and male germ cells undergo a process whereby imprinting marks are erased from the genome. During the later stages of germ-cell development, the methylation marks of the female and male germ lines are re-established.

Assisted Reproductive Technology
2021Assisted reproductive technology (ART) refers to those procedures aiming to achieve pregnancy through manipulating one or both male and female gametes (i.e., sperm and oocyte). The main fertilization techniques are artificial insemination, in vitro fertilization (IVF), intracytoplasmatic sperm injection (ICSI), and gestational surrogacy. Each makes use

Genetics and assisted reproduction technology
Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, 2005In the past 20 years, a significant improvement has been shown in the treatment for infertility in both women and men through the development of in vitro fertilization (IVF) and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). Only donated sperm could be previously used for treatment; now oocytes can also be donated.

Anesthesia for assisted reproductive technologies
Seminars in Anesthesia, Perioperative Medicine and Pain, 2000S INCE THE BIRTH of Louise Brown, the first "test tube'(actually, petri-dish in-vitro fertilized) baby in 1978,1 an ever-increasing number of procedures known as assisted reproductive technologies (ARTs) have been performed. With refinements in the science, live birth rates have increased; the most recent survey of North American clinics reported that ...

Microfluidic technology for assisted reproduction
Theriogenology, 2002The physical tools used in assisted reproduction have changed little over several decades. Microfluidics is an emerging technology that allows a fresh examination of the way assisted reproduction is performed. Here we review our work to develop microfluidic devices to perform the functions required in assisted reproduction.

Endometriosis and Assisted Reproductive Technologies
Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology, 1999The association between endometriosis and infertility is well established, and different mechanisms have been postulated to cause infertility depending on the stage of endometriosis. Controlled ovarian hyperstimulation improves pregnancy outcome for minimal to mild endometriosis; however, there are no randomized controlled studies of this technique in ...
