This study investigates laser shock peening for enhancing fatigue performance of riveted aerospace aluminum joints. A comparative approach with cold expansion combines fatigue testing and synchrotron X‐ray methods. Integrating mechanical testing with residual stress and strain characterization provides insights into how different treatments affect the ...

We take under consideration Young measures with densities. The notion of density of a Young measure is introduced and illustrated with examples. It is proved that the density of a Young measure is weakly sequentially closed set. In the case when density of a Young measure is a singleton (up to the set of null measure), it is shown that the strong ...

Harnessing Fungal Biowelding for Constructing Mycelium‐Engineered Materials
Mycelium‐bound composites (MBCs) offer low‐carbon alternatives for construction, yet interfacial bonding remains a critical challenge. This review examines fungal biowelding as a biocompatible adhesive, elucidating mycelium‐mediated interfacial mechanisms and their role in material assembly. Strategies to optimize biowelding are discussed, highlighting

Duplex Stainless Steel Laser‐Surface Textured: Stability in Brine Solution
Controlled laser‐surface treatment (LST) of duplex DSS2205 steel is performed to increase its stability in brine solution under cyclic electrochemical assays. The superior protection with respect to flat and smooth panels is attributed to the presence of FeCr2O4 as the main protective oxide layer in the LST surface, after corrosion tests. The stability

Universal vortex statistics and stochastic geometry of Bose-Einstein condensation
The cooling of a Bose gas in finite time results in the formation of a Bose-Einstein condensate that is spontaneously proliferated with vortices. We propose that the vortex spatial statistics is described by a homogeneous Poisson point process (PPP) with

This study examines how several molten high‐silicon electrical steels interact with both conventional and recycled MgO–C refractories. For this, various immersion experiments are conducted. In addition to infiltration, a number of mechanisms are identified and explained that control the corrosion of the refractory material.

On the optimal control for the wave equation in heterogeneous materials
This article deals with the wave equation in heterogeneous materials. Under this premise, we obtain a result for the following optimal interior control problem: reach optimally (in finite time T) any point on a given trajectory (called the reference ...
