Heart rate recovery after exercise is associated with renal function in patients with a homogenous chronic renal disease [PDF]
Attenuated heart rate recovery (HRR) is an independent predictor of cardiac and total mortality. Diminished renal function is a similar predictor. There are no data concerning the interaction between the two risk factors. We studied HRR in patients with a homogeneous renal disease, IgA nephropathy. One hundred and seven patients with biopsy-proven ...

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Relaxation in homogeneous and non-homogeneous polarized systems. A mesoscopic entropy approach
The dynamics of a degree of freedom associated to an axial vector in contact with a heat bath is decribed by means of a probability distribution function obeying a Fokker-Planck equation.

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Level sets and non Gaussian integrals of positively homogeneous functions [PDF]
We investigate various properties of the sublevel set $\{x \,:\,g(x)\leq 1\}$ and the integration of $h$ on this sublevel set when $g$ and $h$are positively homogeneous functions.

Collisions of Shock Waves in General Relativity
We show that the Nariai-Bertotti Petrov type D, homogeneous solution of Einstein's vacuum field equations with a cosmological constant describes the space-time in the interaction region following the head-on collision of two homogeneous, plane ...

Changes in Gray Matter Density, Regional Homogeneity, and Functional Connectivity in Methamphetamine-Associated Psychosis: A Resting-State Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) Study [PDF]
BACKGROUND Using regional homogeneity (ReHo) blood oxygen level-dependent functional MR (BOLD-fMRI), we investigated the structural and functional alterations of brain regions among patients with methamphetamine-associated psychosis (MAP). MATERIAL AND METHODS This retrospective study included 17 MAP patients, 16 schizophrenia (SCZ) patients, and 18 ...

Detection of extrachromosomal circular DNA (eccDNA) in plasma samples from EGFR‐mutated non‐small cell lung cancer patients. Plasma was collected before and during treatment with the EGFR‐tyrosine kinase inhibitor osimertinib. Plasma eccDNA was detected in all cancer samples, and the presence of the EGFR gene on eccDNA serves as a potential biomarker ...

Theory on Linear L-Fractional Differential Equations and a New Mittag–Leffler-Type Function
The L-fractional derivative is defined as a certain normalization of the well-known Caputo derivative, so alternative properties hold: smoothness and finite slope at the origin for the solution, velocity units for the vector field, and a differential ...
