Ion-ion-solvent interactions in solution. Part 4. - Raman spectra of aqueous solutions of some nitrates with monovalent cations

open access: yes, 1982
The profile of the band due to the symmetric stretching of the nitrate ion in the Raman spectra of solutions of NHNO, MeN·NO, LiNO, KNO and RbNO has been component analysed. For the cations NH and MeN only one component was present.

Time‐restricted feeding prior to Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection reduces tissue CD4+ T cells with limited impact on bacterial clearance

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐restricted feeding (TRF) in mice increased liver fatty acid oxidation and decreased fatty acid biosynthesis. These alterations persisted when TRF was discontinued and the host was infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Pre‐exposure to TRF did not alter tissue (lung and spleen) mycobacterial burden but significantly reduced CD3+ T cells in lungs

Photoinduced electron transfer at liquid/liquid interfaces. Part III. Photoelectrochemical responses involving porphyrin ion pairs

open access: yes, 1999
The interfacial photoreactivity of water soluble porphyrin ion pairs was explored by photocurrent measurements at the water/1,2-dichloroethane interface.

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

UiO‐66 metal–organic frameworks in biomedicine: From structural tunability to bioimaging, photodiagnostics, and photodynamic cancer therapy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
UiO‐66(Zr) metal–organic frameworks are chemically stable, biocompatible, and highly tunable nanomaterials. Their modular structure enables controlled drug delivery, multimodal bioimaging, and light‐activated photodynamic therapy, supporting integrated diagnostic and therapeutic (theranostic) applications in cancer and biomedical research.

Ion speciation in milk-like systems

open access: yes, 2010
The research described in this thesis is about ion behaviour in milk systems as a function of changing conditions (pH, ionic strength, addition of electrolytes and non-electrolytes).

Electronic and relativistic contributions to ion-pairing in polyoxometalate model systems

open access: yes, 2017
Experiment and theory delineate covalency, electrostatic association, and relativistic effect contributions to polyoxometalate-alkali ion-pairs in water.
