Reclassification of aster yellows group phytoplasmas in Korea

Journal of General Plant Pathology, 2012
Aster yellows group phytoplasmas were reclassified by analysis of the 16S rRNA gene sequence, their phylogeny and the presence of interoperon heterogeneity. Nine phytoplasmas were classified into subgroups 16SrI-B and 16SrI-D using the 16S rRNA gene sequence.

Response of mycorrhizal periwinkle plants to aster yellows phytoplasma infection

Mycorrhiza, 2009
The objective of our research was to assess if arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungal colonization can modify the effect of infection by two aster yellows phytoplasma strains (AY1, AYSim) in Catharanthus roseus plants. Both phytoplasma strains had a negative effect on the root fresh weight, but they differed in symptoms appearance and in their influence on

Remission of Aster Yellows Disease by Antibiotics

Science, 1968
Suppression of symptoms of aster yellows by antibiotics supports the tentative hypothesis that the etiologic agent is a mycoplasma- or bedsonia-like organism rather than a virus. Development of symptoms was suppressed by chlortetracycline, tetracycline, or chloramphenicol, but not by penicillin.
