Asterisk and Obelisk

Proceedings of the 31st Annual ACM Symposium on User Interface Software and Technology, 2018
Machine readable passive tags for tagging physical objects are ubiquitous today. We propose Motion Codes, a passive tagging mechanism that is based on the kinesthetic motion of the user's hand. Here, the tag comprises of a visual pattern that is displayed on a physical surface. To scan the tag and receive the encoded information, the user simply traces

On Asterisk Inflation

PS: Political Science & Politics, 2010
Abstract In recent years, many political science articles have changed the traditional and correct method for flagging statistically significant coefficients in tables. They now add extra asterisks at each significance level. This article describes the shift and why it should be reversed.

Asterisk PBX Capacity Evaluation

2015 IEEE International Parallel and Distributed Processing Symposium Workshop, 2015
A VoIP communication infrastructure may need to serve a substantial number of users with an acceptable voice quality. This paper investigates the suitability of the Asterisk PBX server to provide VoIP communication capabilities with an acceptable Mean Opinion Score (MOS) quality to a large number of users.

COMPLEXES OF DECAMETHYLSILICOCENE - CP2-ASTERISK-SI(CO) AND CP2-ASTERISK-SI(N2)

1993
The synthesis and IR spectroscopic detection of the monocarbonyl and mononitrogen complex of decamethylsilicocen in liquid xenon (LXe) and liquid nitrogen (LN2) is reported. The reactions were found to be highly incomplete under a few bar of CO or N2 and reversibel when the pressure is released. Cp2*Si(CO) is characterized by three isotopomeres and Cp2*

B-asterisk Production In Z-decays

1995
The decay B* --> B gamma has been observed with the DELPHI detector at LEP, where the B* meson is produced in Z boson decays, The combination of inclusively reconstructed B mesons with well-measured converted photons yields a measurement of the flavour-averaged B* - B mass difference of 45.5 +/- 0.3 (stat.) +/- 0.8 (syst.) MeV/c(2).
