Radiation Forces and Trajectory of Hayabusa2♯ Target 1998 KY26

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters
Small near-Earth asteroid 1998 KY _26 has recently become an object of interest because it is the target of the Hayabusa2 ♯ mission and because challenges in fitting its astrometric data have led to classifying it as a dark comet.

Orbital Transfers in a Binary Asteroid System Considering Flattening of the Bodies and Solar Radiation Pressure

open access: yesAerospace
This paper aims to investigate the effects of asteroid size and shape and solar radiation pressure in the trajectories of a spacecraft in transfers between the collinear equilibrium points of a binary non-spherical asteroid system.

Fully Coherent Model of Dynamics around Binary Asteroids: Application to Didymos and the DART Impact

open access: yesThe Planetary Science Journal
The dynamical environment around binary asteroids has been studied in depth, but these models typically make assumptions about the eccentricity, shapes, or rotational stability of the asteroids.

The Dynamics of the Trojan Asteroids [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 1994
The state of the art in the dynamics of the Trojan asteroids has progressed rapidly, since it has been possible to perform numerical integrations of many orbits for millions of years. Accurate proper elements are now computed by the synthetic method, that is from the output of a numerical integration; their stability, at least for time spans of a few ...

Catalog of Proper Orbits for 1.25 Million Main-belt Asteroids and Discovery of 136 New Collisional Families

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series
The proper elements of asteroids are obtained from the instantaneous orbital elements by removing periodic oscillations produced by gravitational interactions with planets.

Secular dynamics around uniformly rotating asteroids

open access: yesMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 2019
The dynamical behaviours of spacecrafts moving around uniformly rotating asteroids are investigated in this work. Based on the generalized inertia integrals of asteroids, the expression of the disturbing potential is derived as a trigonometric series in terms of the mean anomaly, geographical longitude of ascending node and argument of pericentre.

The dynamics about asteroid (162173) Ryugu

open access: yesCelestial Mechanics and Dynamical Astronomy
AbstractThe dynamical environment around the asteroid (162173) Ryugu is analyzed in detail using a constant-density polyhedron model based on the measurements from the Hayabusa2 mission. Six exterior equilibrium points (EPs) are identified along the ridge line of Ryugu, and their topological classifications fall into two distinctive categories.
