Astigmatic keratotomy for post-keratoplasty astigmatism

Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, 2006
To assess astigmatic keratotomy as a means of managing post-keratoplasty astigmatism in the era of excimer laser refractive surgery.Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, England.Fifty paired arcuate keratotomies were performed with refractive and topographic guidance.

Astigmatism in Infants

Science, 1978
Compared with children of school age, infants show ten times the incidence and considerably greater amounts of clinically significant astigmatism. The amount begins to decrease in the second semester of life, and the incidence declines during the third year. These unanticipated results bear on both the etiology and the neural sequelae of astigmatism.

Astigmatism

Ophthalmic and Physiological Optics, 2000
Summary The quantitative representation and analysis of astigmatism present difficulties for the researcher. The case is made that the difficulties arise because of the way astigmatism is conceived and defined. In most cases astigmatism is regarded as cylinder.

ASTIGMATISM IN GONIOSCOPY

Acta Ophthalmologica, 1982
The bundle of rays from the chamber angle will pass the posterior surface of the contact‐glass at a large angle. This will result in considerable astigmatism. Different methods to reduce or eliminate the astigmatism are discussed.

Correcting Astigmatism

Optometry and Vision Science, 1989
ABSTRACT Measurement of refraction in the principal meridians and off‐axis meridians in both directions from the visual axis was undertaken. The extent of disagreement between the sine‐squared law and the actual astigmatism of living astigmatic eyes was calculated.

Femtosecond laser astigmatic keratotomy for postkeratoplasty astigmatism

Canadian Journal of Ophthalmology, 2008
Two eyes of 2 patients with high astigmatism following penetrating keratoplasty were treated with femtosecond laser-assisted paired arcuate keratotomies in the donor cornea. Outcome measures included best-corrected visual acuity, refraction, keratometry, and topographic findings.

Hyperbolicity and Astigmatism

Journal of Statistical Physics, 2000
The main goal of this paper is to present some classes of chaotic high-dimensional billiards with all three types (focusing, dispersing and flat) components of the boundary. Moreover the author formulates the general approach to the construction of hyperbolic billiards in dimensions \(d\geq 3\) and to extend the notion of absolutely focusing mirrors to
