Abstract Amino acids are an extremely heterogeneous group of biomolecules essential for life on Earth. Their biosignatures are expected to be easily degraded on the Martian surface as the absence of a thick atmosphere and a magnetosphere leads to most of the solar radiation directly reaching its surface.

Dark‐Toned Halite‐Enriched Veins Above the Marker Band Record a Drying Environment in Gale Crater
Abstract The Martian surface preserves evidence of a global climate transition from wetter to drier conditions, but the nature of the fluids involved in this evolution remains poorly constrained. In Gale crater, the clay‐sulfate transition and presence of evaporite mineral assemblages can provide insights into the properties of these fluids and the ...

An Unexpected Facet of Extremophiles: Their Aesthetic Potential in Artistic Expression
In an era marked by environmental challenges and the proliferation of misinformation, the fusion of art and science is a strategy to promote public understanding and appreciation of complex scientific phenomena. We illustrate how the use of extremophiles offers novel avenues for artistic exploration and emphasise the benefits of such interdisciplinary ...

Rock Coatings as Evidence for Late Surface Alteration on the Floor of Jezero Crater, Mars
Abstract During the NASA Perseverance rover's exploration of the Jezero crater floor, coatings were commonly observed on rocks. These features may record past water‐rock‐atmosphere interactions on the crater floor, and understanding their origin is important for constraining the timing of potential water activity and habitability at Jezero.
