Energy Spectra of Atmospheric Turbulence for Calculating Cn2 Parameter. I. Maidanak and Suffa Observatories in Uzbekistan

open access: yesAtmosphere, 2021
Knowledge of the turbulence spectra is of interest for describing atmospheric conditions as applied to astronomical observations. This article discusses the deformations of the turbulence spectra with heights in a wide range of scales at the sites of the

Long-Term Trends of Astroclimatic Parameters above the Terskol Observatory

open access: yesAtmosphere, 2023
Astroclimatic conditions characterize the quality of an astronomical site. The Terskol Observatory was founded over 42 years ago in 1980. The astronomical site (coordinates 43°16′29″ N, 42°30′03″ E) is located about 10 km from Mt.

Daytime Cloud Detection Method Using the All-Sky Imager over PERMATApintar Observatory

open access: yesUniverse, 2021
In this study, we explored a new method of cloud detection called the Blue-Green (B-G) Color Difference, which is adapted from the widely used Red-Blue (R-B) Color Difference. The objective of this study was to test the effectiveness of these two methods

Astroclimate parameters of the Kyiv observatories

open access: green, 2012
Astroclimate parameters such as the atmospheric extinction, the night-sky brightness, and the seeing are studied using the observational data obtained at some Kyiv observatories. The first parameter is determined using the brief Bouguer method. The night-sky brightness is calculated using the images of standard stars in different filters.
