Search for a Black Hole Binary in Gaia DR3 Astrometric Binary Stars with Spectroscopic Data [PDF]
We report the discovery of a candidate binary system consisting of a black hole (BH) and a red giant branch star in Gaia DR3. This binary system was discovered from 64,108 binary solutions for which both astrometric and spectroscopic data are available ...

A generative model for Gaia astrometric orbit catalogs: selection functions for binary stars, giant planets, and compact object companions [PDF]
Astrometry from {\it Gaia} DR3 has produced a sample of $\sim$170,000 Keplerian orbital solutions, with many more anticipated in the next few years.

Astrometric Identification of Nearby Binary Stars I: Predicted\n Astrometric Signals [PDF]
ABSTRACT We examine the capacity to identify binary systems from astrometric errors and deviations alone. Until the release of the fourth Gaia data release, we lack the full astrometric time-series that the satellite records, but as we show can still infer the presence of binaries from the best-fitting models, and their error, already ...

Astrometric identification of nearby binary stars II: Astrometric binaries in the Gaia Catalogue of Nearby Stars [PDF]
Abstract We examine the capacity to identify binary systems from astrometric deviations alone. We apply our analysis to the Gaia eDR3 and DR2 data, specifically the Gaia Catalogue of Nearby Stars. We show we must renormalize (R)UWE over the local volume to avoid biasing local observations, giving a Local Unit Weight Error (LUWE).

Spectroscopic follow-up of Gaia exoplanet candidates: Impostor binary stars invade the Gaia DR3 astrometric exoplanet candidates [PDF]
Abstract In this paper, we report on the follow-up of six potential exoplanets detected with Gaia astrometry and provide an overview of what is currently known about the nature of the entire Gaia astrometric exoplanet candidate sample, 72 systems in total.

Astrometric Mass Ratios of 248 Long-period Binary Stars Resolved in Hipparcos and Gaia EDR3 [PDF]
Abstract Using the absolute astrometric positions and proper motions for common stars in the Hipparcos and Gaia catalogs separated by 24.75 yr in the mean epoch, we compute mass ratios for long-period, resolved binary systems without any astrophysical assumptions or dependencies, except the presence of inner binary subsystems that may ...

An astrometric study of four binary stars [PDF]
Completion of long-term astrometric plate series yields revised results on the orbits and parallaxes. The subdwarf mu Cas seems to be overluminous; the distance of the supergiant epsilon Aur is near 600 pc. The unresolved companion in the red dwarf pair BD +6degree398 is of very low mass, and the companion of BD +67degree552 massive but probably ...

ICCD Speckle Observations of Binary Stars. XIX. An Astrometric/Spectroscopic Survey of O Stars [PDF]
We present the results of a speckle interferometric survey made with the CHARA speckle camera and 4 m–class telescopes of Galactic O-type stars with V 59% have a visual or spectroscopic companion) but less so among field and especially runaway stars.

Astrometric and photometric observations of nearby binary stars. [PDF]
Relative positions for 36 nearby binary stars, measured on plates obtained with the Lick 91-cm refractor, are presented. Photovisual magnitude differences for 27 of these are also given along with photoelectric measures for 14 pairs. A short discussion of the precision of double-star measurements with the Lick Automatic Measuring Engine is also ...
