JWST Imaging of the Closest Globular Clusters—VI. The Lowest‐Mass Objects in M 4 and the Galactic Bulge

open access: yesAstronomische Nachrichten, Volume 346, Issue 9, November 2025.
ABSTRACT We present James Webb Space Telescope observations of M 4—the closest globular cluster—that probe the lower Main Sequence down to the hydrogen‐burning limit. The unveiled stellar sequence reaches much fainter luminosities than previously possible, revealing a few extremely red objects that are consistent with brown dwarfs as cool as Teff∼1000K$

Cosmic Ray Counting Variability From Water‐Cherenkov Detectors as a Proxy of Stratospheric Conditions in Antarctica

open access: yesEarth and Space Science, Volume 12, Issue 11, November 2025.
Abstract This work examines atmospheric effects on cosmic ray counts observed by a Water‐Cherenkov detector at the Argentine Antarctic Marambio Station. We analyze the influence of ground‐level barometric pressure and geopotential height at various pressure levels on daily particle rates, finding the strongest association at 100 hPa, linked to ...

Estimating the mass of CMEs from the analysis of EUV dimmings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Context. Reliable estimates of the mass of coronal mass ejections (CMEs) are required to quantify their energy and predict how they affect space weather.

Midnight Simultaneous Observations of Spread‐F and Multiple F‐Layer Stratifications During the 11–12 May 2024 Geomagnetic Superstorm

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, Volume 130, Issue 11, November 2025.
Abstract A geomagnetic superstorm occurred from May 10 to 12, 2024, producing significant spatial and temporal disturbances in the ionosphere. Ground‐based ionosonde and GPS‐TEC data enabled the identification, analysis, and possible interpretation of a unique event: the simultaneous occurrence of Spread‐F and multiple F‐layer stratifications during ...

Coherence-length effects in fast atom diffraction at grazing incidence [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Coherence properties of projectiles, found relevant in ion-atom collisions, are investigated by analyzing the influence of the degree of coherence of the atomic beam on interference patterns produced by grazing-incidence fast-atom diffraction (GIFAD or ...

A new method to find the potential center of N-body systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We present a new and fast method to nd the potential center of an N-body distribution. The method uses an iterative algorithm which exploits the fact that the gradient of the potential is null at its center: it uses a smoothing radius to avoid getting

Mapping Geothermal Fluids Using Seismic Absorption and Scattering: A Case Study From Aluto Volcano

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 52, Issue 19, 16 October 2025.
Abstract Seismic attenuation tomography is used to map fluids and fractures beneath the Aluto volcano geothermal field of the Main Ethiopian Rift. We present 3D models of peak delay (Δlog10Tpd ${\Delta }{\log }_{10}\left({T}_{pd}\right)$) and inverse coda quality factor (Qc−1 ${Q}_{c}^{-1}$) which are proxies for seismic scattering and absorption. High
