Araguainha Dome, Brazil: A polygonal impact structure due to a complex pre‐impact regional structural framework

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, EarlyView.
Abstract We investigated the structural framework of the north–northwestern Paraná Basin in Brazil to test whether the pre‐impact structures in this region may have had any influence on the first‐order formation and morphostructure of the Araguainha impact structure (AIS).

Evolution of Photospheric Vector Magnetic Field Associated with Moving Flare Ribbons As Seen By GST

open access: yes, 2018
The photospheric response to solar flares, also known as coronal back reaction, is often observed as sudden flare-induced changes in vector magnetic field and sunspot motions.

First Observation of Sawtooth‐Like Undulations in Afternoon Detached Auroral Arcs Modulated by Surface Waves at the Plasmaspheric Plume Boundary

open access: yesAGU Advances, Volume 7, Issue 3, June 2026.
Abstract The afternoon detached auroral arc is an important phenomenon in the subauroral region, reflecting coupling processes between the Earth's magnetosphere and ionosphere. Previous studies have not identified fine‐scale structures in such arcs, leaving the dynamics underlying their formation poorly understood.

Meridional circulation of gas into gaps opened by giant planets in three-dimensional low-viscosity disks

open access: yes, 2014
We examine the gas circulation near a gap opened by a giant planet in a protoplanetary disk. We show with high resolution 3D simulations that the gas flows into the gap at high altitude over the mid-plane, at a rate dependent on viscosity.

Ion Cyclotron Waves Associated With Ionospheric Outflow at Jupiter

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 10, 28 May 2026.
Abstract The mechanism driving ion outflow from Jupiter's auroras remains to be determined. H+ ${\mathrm{H}}^{+}$ outflow has been observed with highly field‐aligned pitch angles consistent with acceleration by high‐altitude electrostatic potential structures.

Implementation of the Sun Position Calculation in the PDC-1 Control Microprocessor [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
The several computational approaches to providing the local azimuth and elevation angles of the Sun as a function of local time and then the utilization of the most appropriate method in the PDC-1 microprocessor are presented.

Euler‐Top Gaussian Modes: Structured Beams From Quadratic Angular Momentum Dynamics

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 9, 13 May 2026.
A new family of structured Gaussian light beams are introduced: Euler‐top Gaussian modes. Their ray‐orbital paths on the Gaussian Poincaré sphere correspond to the polhodes of the Euler top in classical angular momentum theory. This geometric and algebraic construction reveals a nonseparable mode family extending the familiar Hermite‐, Laguerre‐ and ...

Experimental Evaluation of Energy Efficiency of Four Sun-Tracking Photovoltaic Configurations

open access: yesEnergies
The sun tracker plays a major role in improving the energy efficiency of a solar power system. To address this role, this study experimentally explores the energy efficiency of three sun-tracking systems with three types of degrees of freedom (DOFs ...

Versatile Magneto‐Dielectric Response of Epitaxial Thin Films of the High Entropy Oxide Perovskite Nd(Cr0.2Mn0.2Fe0.2Co0.2Ni0.2)O3

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 26, 8 May 2026.
The magnetic high entropy oxide perovskite Nd(Cr0.2Mn0.2Fe0.2Co0.2Ni0.2)O3 exhibits a substantially large dielectric constant (εr) at room temperature, which shows distinct anionic and cationic contributions in the form of zero and finite bias peaks, respectively, down to its magnetic transition temperature (Tmag).
