Currents in the Martian Ionosphere: Cases Without Strong Crustal Magnetic Fields

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Planets, Volume 131, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract The Martian ionosphere hosts complex current systems driven both by solar wind interactions and neutral wind dynamo processes. While the global patterns of these current systems have been statistically examined, their detailed structures and orientations remain poorly constrained.

Alfvénic Poynting Flux Characterized by a Substorm‐SMC Cycle and Ionospheric Influence

open access: yesSpace Weather, Volume 24, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract Geomagnetic substorms are fundamental processes of explosive geospace energy release within the Earth's magnetotail, which are usually divided into three phases: the growth phase, the expansion phase, and the recovery phase. Large‐scale electromagnetic energy transport during a geomagnetic substorm is in the form of Alfvén waves, transmitting ...

ESA Swarm Satellites Plasma Density Products: Comparison and Validation Against Incoherent Scatter Radars Observations

open access: yesSpace Weather, Volume 24, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract The European Space Agency's Swarm mission has provided over a decade of continuous in situ measurements of the topside ionospheric plasma. With the release of various official plasma density products and the development of several calibration methods, selecting the most reliable data set has become an important issue for the scientific ...

Variability of dB/dt in the African Sector During Solar Cycle 24—Implications for Geomagnetically Induced Currents

open access: yesSpace Weather, Volume 24, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract This paper quantitatively characterizes dB/dt peaks at four African equatorial‐ and low‐latitude stations, along latitudinal and local‐time gradients across different phases of selected geomagnetic storms. We investigate dB/dt response for intense geomagnetic storms, Dst ≤ −100 nT observed during solar cycle 24 over four stations in the ...

Chemogenetic Activation of G12 Signaling Thickens the Epidermis With Enhanced Barrier Function

open access: yesFASEB BioAdvances, Volume 8, Issue 8, August 2026.
In this study, we investigated the role of G12 signaling in the epidermis using a keratinocyte‐specific chemogenetic approach. Activation of G12 signaling promoted keratinocyte differentiation and enhanced epidermal barrier function by upregulating filaggrin, claudin‐1, and ceramide.
