Terahertz‐Nanoscale Visualization of the Microscopic Spin‐Charge Architecture of Colossal Magnetoresistive Switching

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study employs cryogenic magneto‐terahertz nanoscopy to reveal the real‐space electrodynamics of the colossal magnetoresistance transition. By capturing the terahertz electrodynamic evolution of field‐driven spin switching, the work unveils the dissipative dynamics of emergent metallic states, providing a high‐frequency view of coupled spin‐charge ...

Flat Bands Induced by Non‐Collinear Antiferromagnetism in CoBi2Te4

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Flat bands emerge at the edges of intrinsically non‐collinear antiferromagnetic CoBi2Te4 two‐septuple layers through the interplay of spin–orbit coupling–driven band inversion and non‐collinear antiferromagnetism, uncovering a previously unexplored mechanism for flat‐band formation and opening new opportunities for strongly correlated quantum states ...

Investigation of a resistive anode detector for astronomical spectroscopy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
A large format two dimensional photon counting detector has been evaluated as a detector for astronomical spectroscopy. The design comprises an 320 photocathode, a tandem MCP gain stage and a circular arc terminated resisitive anode to provide ...

Reading Astronomical Phenomena in The Peterborough Chronicle (Comets and Other Celestial Matter) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
King Alfred (849?-899) ordered a complilation of chronicles out of which seven manuscripts survive. The Peterborough Chronicle recorded what happened in England from A.D. 1 to A.D. 1154.

A Study Regarding the Representation of the Sun in Young Children’s Spontaneous Drawings

open access: yesSocial Sciences, 2017
Drawing has historically been the preeminent way of portraying the observations of the sun. The study of the early stages of the development of astronomical thought and the examination of human graphic expression indicate this.

Scalable Crackle‐Lithography for Multifunctional Enclosed Plastic Nanofluidic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Crackle‐lithography enables scalable fabrication of enclosed plastic‐substrate‐based nanofluidic devices with interconnected nanochannels that enable molecular transport, optical interrogation, confined electroless copper deposition, and ionic memristive behavior.

Effect of scale comprehension on student reasoning about astronomical phenomena. II. Moon phases

open access: yesPhysical Review Physics Education Research
This paper is the second in a two-part series that investigates students’ reasoning on astronomical phenomena. In this work, we examined how (if at all) students rely on spatial scale assumptions when reasoning about Moon phases.

Symmetry‐Imposed Selection Rules for Excitations of Nontrivial Plasmonic Topologies

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A unified group‐theory selection rule governs the excitation of vectorial nearfield topologies across three plasmonic spin states. Derived from first principles, it predicts spin–orbit vortex splitting and multidimensional nested vortices, confirmed by phase‐resolved in situ measurements.
