AstroBase: Distributed Long-Term Astronomical Database

2019
China’s self-developed GWAC is different from previous astronomical projects. GWAC consists of 40 wide-angle telescopes, collecting image data of the entire sky every 15 s, and requires data to be processed and alerted in real time within 15 s. These requirements are due to GWAC.

Long-Term Citation Histories of Astronomical Papers

Publications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific, 1981
We studied the citation histories of 326 papers published in 1961 and cited in the 18 subsequent years. On the average the citations reached a maximum five years after publication, followed by a slow decline such that 20 years after publication the citation rate is half the maximum rate. Theoretical papers show the same rate of decline as observational

Finding the right term: Retrieving and exploring semantic concepts in astronomical vocabularies

Information Processing & Management, 2010
Astronomy, like many domains, already has several sets of terminology in general use, referred to as controlled vocabularies. For example, the keywords for tagging journal articles, or the taxonomy of terms used to label image files. These existing vocabularies can be encoded into skos, a W3C proposed recommendation for representing vocabularies on the

GpDL: A Spatially Aggregated Data Layout for Long-Term Astronomical Observation Archive

2018
A great number of excellent astronomical academic achievements are built on historical observation data. So long-term astronomical observation archive has great significance for astronomical research. At the observation site, data from different sky areas shot in a consecutive time period are stored in one disk.
