A long-term geophysical and astronomical dataset: sunspot counting from 1610 to 2021
2021<p>Solar activity is an essential factor for the study of many aspects of the geophysical and astronomical sciences. A very simple measure of solar activity is counting sunspots using telescopes. This task can be done even with small telescopes since the Sun is apparently a very large and luminous star.

Long-term statistics of meteorological data at the Maidanak Astronomical Observatory
Research in Astronomy and AstrophysicsAbstract The meteorological condition of the atmosphere was studied for the new 4-meter telescope planned to be installed at the Maidanak observatory. This article presents an analysis of certain meteorological parameters measured for the Maidanak Observatory in 2013-2024 and general information about them.

We analyzed the variations of the interplanetary plasma parameters, obtained from radio astronomical observations of scintillations of cosmic radio sources during four 11-year cycles of solar activity, from 1966 to present. It is shown that the state of the interplanetary plasma permanently changes in conformity with cyclicity in the solar activity. In

Stability of the long period terms in the La2011 astronomical solution.
2012The obtention of an accurate astronomical solution for the orbital motion of the Earth in the Solar System is an essential step for the elaboration of geological time scales that are based on the correlation of sedimentary cycles with insolation variations on the Earth's surface.

The history of solar observations in the radio range at the Mountain Astronomical Station, State Astronomical Observatory, Russian Academy of Sciences (MAS RAS) since 1957 is outlined. The stages of the formation and development of radio observations are described, from the creation of a radio interferometer of the meter wavelength range to modern ...

Understanding rapid climate variations during the Late Ordovician in terms of astronomical forcing.
2015Cyclostratigraphy comprises the study of astronomically forced climate cycles as expressed in the sedimentary record. Such studies are particularly challenging when applied to the deep geological time. Recent studies (De Vleeschouwer & Parnell, 2014) however, have now successfully demonstrated the astronomical rhythm of climate changes as far as the ...
