UHF electromagnetic emission stimulated by HF pumping of the ionosphere
[PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Geophysicae, 2002
UHF electromagnetic emission (with a frequency near 600 MHz) from the F-region of the ionosphere pumped by an HF powerful radio wave is revealed. Possible mechanisms of the emission excitation, such as plasma mode con-version, scattering or Earth ...

CD44v, S1PR1, HER3, MET and cancer‐associated amino acid transporters are promising targets for the pancreatic cancers characterized using mAb

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Novel mAbs could detect cancer‐associated membrane proteins on various type of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinomas (PDAC) by flow cytometry with viable PDAC cells and by immunohistochemistry with PDAC tissues. Results of protein expression were substantiated by mRNA expression by The Cancer Genome Atlas.

Using Cepheids to determine the galactic abundance gradient I. The solar neighbourhood [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
A number of studies of abundance gradients in the galactic disk have been performed in recent years. The results obtained are rather disparate: from no detectable gradient to a rather significant slope of about -0.1 dex kpc -1. The present study concerns

The purpose of astronomy [PDF]

open access: yesVistas Astron. 39 (1995) 315, 1995
This is a presentation of the purpose of astronomy in the context of modern society. After exposing two misconceptions about astronomy, I detail its role in five domains, certified knowledge, incorporated abilities, innovations, collective goods, and popular science; with each domain is associated an institution, an incentive, and a method of ...

In vivo transit dosimetry methodology for whole breast intensity modulated radiation therapy

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background In vivo transit dosimetry using an electronic portal imaging device (EPID‐IVTD) is an important tool for verifying the accuracy of radiation therapy treatments. Despite its potential, the implementation of EPID‐IVTD in breast intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) treatments has not yet been standardized, limiting its clinical
