Lorentz Symmetry Violation and High-Energy Cosmic Rays [PDF]
We discuss possible violations of Poincare's relativity principle at energy scales close to Planck scale and point out the potentialities of high-energy cosmic-ray physics to uncover these new phenomena.Comment: Talk given at the Workshop on "Topics in ...

Quantifying the unknown: issues in simulation validation and their experimental impact
The assessment of the reliability of Monte Carlo simulations is discussed, with emphasis on uncertainty quantification and the related impact on experimental results. Methods and techniques to account for epistemic uncertainties, i.e.

Stochastic analysis of ultrahigh-energy cosmic ray interactions
Context. Photonuclear interactions between ultrahigh-energy cosmic ray (UHECR) nuclei and photon fields are key to connecting the compositions observed at Earth to those emitted from the sources as well as understanding their evolution during propagation.

Clash of the titans: ultra-high energy KM3NeT event versus IceCube data
KM3NeT has reported the detection of a remarkably high-energy through-going muon. Lighting up about a third of the detector, this muon likely originated from a neutrino exceeding 10 PeV in energy.
