The Problem of Christ’s Acquired Knowledge

open access: yesModern Theology, EarlyView.
Abstract Thomas Aquinas is universally applauded for his “courage and perspicacity” in eventually admitting an acquired knowledge in Christ. According to this doctrine, Christ, through the experience of his senses, came to know what he previously did not know.

First‐Generation Inequalities, Adaptation, and Resilience

open access: yesSociological Forum, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT First‐generation college students face systemic barriers to persistence, including lower campus engagement, delayed graduation, and higher departure rates compared to their continuing‐generation peers. While these disadvantages are well documented, less is known about how first‐generation students adapt to institutional contexts laden with ...

Ultraviolet C (UV‐C) Light Therapy for Equine Ulcerative Keratomycosis—An In Vitro Study

open access: yesVeterinary Ophthalmology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives To assess if an affordable, commercially available 275 nm ultraviolet C (UV‐C) device can inhibit fungal pathogens associated with equine keratomycosis and to establish the optimal exposure time/dose required in vitro. Methods Fungal inhibition zone surface areas of isolates from two fungal genera (Aspergillus and Fusarium spp ...

Antimicrobial Activity of Ultraviolet C Light as a Potential Novel Treatment for Moraxella bovis Infection—An In Vitro Study

open access: yesVeterinary Ophthalmology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To investigate the antimicrobial effect of 275 nm wavelength ultraviolet C (UV‐C) light on M. bovis using an affordable, broadly available modified handheld device and to determine if photoreactivation plays a role in bacterial resistance to UV‐C. Methods UV‐C therapy (UVCT) was evaluated in vitro using triplicates of 3 M.

The Arctic Ocean Double Estuary: Quantification and Forcing Mechanisms

open access: yesAGU Advances, Volume 6, Issue 6, December 2025.
Abstract The Arctic Ocean double estuary is a “three‐legged” overturning system in which inflowing waters are converted into both lighter and denser waters before being exported equatorwards. As the northern terminus of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (MOC), it thus both affects, and is affected by, the Atlantic MOC.

Early Career Recommendations for the Equitable Growth of a Marine Carbon Dioxide Removal Sector

open access: yesPerspectives of Earth and Space Scientists, Volume 6, Issue 1, December 2025.
Abstract In addition to steep carbon emission reductions, all modeled pathways to reach global climate goals require carbon removal. Marine carbon dioxide removal has the potential to play a large role in drawing down legacy anthropogenic emissions due to the scalability and durability of proposed methods.

Mentoring and Supporting Mid‐Career Scientists

open access: yesPerspectives of Earth and Space Scientists, Volume 6, Issue 1, December 2025.
Abstract Much‐needed emphasis has been placed on supporting early career scientist. However, the mentoring and support of mid‐career scientists has not received an appropriate level of attention. We define mid‐career as having established a body of work that characterizes one's contribution to, and role in, the research community.

Sustaining Science Infrastructure Is Difficult; Is Commercialization the Answer? The USA National Phenology Network's Experience

open access: yesPerspectives of Earth and Space Scientists, Volume 6, Issue 1, December 2025.
Abstract Biological and physical science infrastructure programs play a critical role in supporting scientific discovery. Even with their foundational roles in the process of science, frequently, support for these programs is threatened, reduced, or eliminated, placing critical data and information at risk of interruption or loss.
