Patterns of consumption in a discrete choice model with asymmetric interactions

open access: yes, 2000
We study the consumption behaviour of an asymmetric network of heterogeneous agents in the framework of discrete choice models with stochastic decision rules. We assume that the interactions among agents are uniquely specified by their ``social distance''

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Codes for Asymmetric Limited-Magnitude Errors With Application to Multilevel Flash Memories [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Several physical effects that limit the reliability and performance of multilevel flash memories induce errors that have low magnitudes and are dominantly asymmetric.

Evolutionarily divergent DUF4465 domains have a common vitamin B12‐binding function

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We show that DUF4465 family proteins, widespread across bacteria from gut microbiomes, hydrothermal vents, and soil, share a common vitamin B12‐binding function. These augmented β‐jellyroll proteins bind vitamin B12 via extended loops. Our findings establish sequence‐diverse DUF4465 proteins as a widespread class of B12‐binding proteins, highlighting ...

Multielectron Effects in Charge Asymmetric Molecules Induced by Asymmetric Laser Fields

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2013
Using a 45 fs pump pulse at 800 nm, a wave packet is created in a charge asymmetric dissociation channel of iodine, I(2)(2+)→I(2+)+I(0+) (2,0). As the molecule dissociates, a two-color (1ω2ω) probe pulse is used to study the dynamics as a function of internuclear separation R.

Digitalization and the “Too Big to Fail” dilemma: mechanisms and asymmetric effects of banks’ Fintech innovation on total factor productivity

open access: yesTechnological and Economic Development of Economy
Fintech is driving the revolution of finance and profoundly affecting the development of the financial sector. However, few studies examined how commercial banks’ fintech innovation affects total factor productivity (TFP).

RoundMi: A quantitative method to analyze mitochondrial morphology in mitotic cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
RoundMi is a workflow for rapid analysis of mitochondrial morphology in mitotic cells. By combining adaptive preprocessing with automated segmentation and quantification, it enables accurate measurements from single focal plane images, reducing acquisition time and computational demands while remaining compatible with high‐throughput fixed and live ...

Aging Is a Key Driver for Adult Acute Myeloid Leukemia

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a classical age‐related hematologic malignancy, and a key driver of AML is aging, which profoundly regulates intrinsic factors such as genomic instability, epigenetic reprogramming, and metabolic dysregulation, and alters bone marrow microenvironment.
