Development of an Inchworm‐Like Dual‐Balloon‐Assisted Colonoscopic Robot Based on a Two‐Segment Extensible Continuum Section

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This work presents an inchworm‐like dual‐balloon‐assisted colonoscopic robot (IDCR) based on a rod‐driven two‐segment continuum section. The IDCR enables the active straightening of the sigmoid colon through an inchworm‐like locomotion strategy, thereby avoiding loop formation.

Study on an Internal Gear with Asymmetric Involute Teeth

open access: yes, 2014
[[abstract]]In this paper, a double envelope concept is used to determine the basic profile of an internal gear with asymmetric involute teeth including driving and driven gears. The teeth of the proposed gear are asymmetric involute teeth. Based on this

Reinforcement Learning With a Low‐Cost Parallel Linkage Gripper for Static and Dynamic Planar In‐Hand Manipulation

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Hardware‐learning co‐design combines volar‐plate‐inspired passive‐joint constraints with mechanism‐aware reinforcement learning for a low‐cost parallel‐linkage gripper. The resulting system performs quasi‐static object adjustment and dynamic pinch grasping, demonstrating reliable planar in‐hand manipulation and successful sim‐to‐real transfer. Parallel

How Do Carbon Emissions Affect the Performance of Listed Latin American Firms? The Moderating Effect of Financial Slack

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study analyses the association between carbon emissions and financial performance in Latin American firms. The scientific literature on this topic is limited, with little evidence available in this geographical region. This study aims to address this research gap by testing hypotheses focused on analysing how Scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon ...

Detection of asymmetric transmission error in geared rotor system through transverse vibration analysis using full spectrum

open access: yesPropulsion and Power Research, 2020
Transmission error (TE) in geared rotors is a predominant source of inherent excitation at the pitch point of the gear meshing. In this paper, a transverse vibration analysis is presented to study the effect of TE on geared rotors.

Bifurcation Analysis of a Coupled Nose Landing Gear-Fuselage System [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Under certain conditions during takeoff and landing, pilots may sometimes experience vibrations in the cockpit. Because the cockpit is located right above the nose landing gear, which is known to potentially be prone to self-excited vibrations at certain

The Multifaceted Role of Trust in Circular Ecosystems: A Systematic Literature Review and Research Agenda

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Circular ecosystems connect diverse actors who collaborate to close resource loops and pursue sustainable goals without centralized control. Such arrangements entail heightened interdependence and uncertainty, making trust, understood as the willingness to accept vulnerability based on positive expectations of others' behavior, a critical ...

Meshing Characteristic Analysis of the Gear Rack Drilling Rig Hoisting System

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2015
The gear rack drilling rig hoisting system adopts statically indeterminate structure design,in the process of drill-down and lifting, the loading asymmetry influences the synchronism of gear rack meshing movement. Therefore,it is very important to study ...

Improvement of the Nonparallel Helical Gear Drive Performance Using the Modified Asymmetric Teeth with Tip Relief

open access: yesJournal of Engineering
Overheating is a common issue in a nonparallel helical gearing system. The reason is the high friction, sliding velocity, and tangential force that occurs between meshed gear teeth.
